Lotus 101

Out of all the fabrics available worldwide, lotus fabric is highly regarded as the most exceptional and expensive material due to its unique properties. Its unparalleled quality offers a soft and comfortable texture, akin to silk, and provides a cooling effect during hot weather, along with the breathability of linen. 

To create a 24 by 24 inches scarf using lotus fiber, approximately 6,000 lotus stems need to be harvested. Each stem is handpicked, and the fiber is extracted on the same day as the harvest. The entire process of crafting a flawless scarf takes at least one and a half months and involves skilled artisans who do not rely on machines because of the delicate nature of lotus thread, which is soft and stretchy.
